This past week’s assignments was dealing with Microsoft
access in which I have to say probably half of the class struggled with because
it was dealing with a new program from Microsoft. The first assignment dealing
with Microsoft access required me to pull up my old CSV file in Microsoft excel
and transfer it to the access table in Microsoft. After that I had to use the
Query wizard to find duplicates in the state column, and then create a report
for all of that information. The next assignment was dealing with Microsoft
access as well. I had to add to my database, but I had to add a table
relationship between the students and courses then make a report which required
time and patients. Other than those assignments, I had to do a scratch assignment
which was kind of fun it was basically an assignment that dealt with putting
characters and items together and making plays with them. In addition to that I
was required to make an interactive postcard using scratch as well which really
wasn’t that hard at all. Finally, the class was required to read the first chapter
of Blown to bits. This is a great book I know just by reading the first chapter.
Without bits I don’t think we as individuals would be as far as we are in today’s
life with technology. For example without bits it would take longer for people
to receive our calls/emails etc., it would take longer for information to go
into the computers, and finally hospitals wouldn’t be able to do some of the
work they did without bits. In addition to that assignment, I was required to
type my name using hexadecimal digits. Finally I think this past week’s
assignments wasn’t as hard at all it just took a little bit of time which everything
takes time and patients to master.
